As the fires are growing and moving in Ventura county I'm trying to find
ways to capture, encourage, and empathize.
This morning I woke up sad. Sad because I could smell the smoke in our Santa
Barbara apartment. Though we are safe, I looked out our sliding doors and saw a
mixture of fog and ash covering the sky. I prayed, asking God for rain and
comfort for those who have lost their homes.
A song the Lord's been putting on my heart is "When We Pray" by
Tauren Wells which talks about the church and the ways the world changes when
the body of Christ comes together to pray.
Yesterday a couple of friends and I dropped off some donations to City
Church in Ventura and then headed to Reality Ventura for a prayer meeting. It
was so rad and encouraging to see the church coming together to pray and ask
God for help.
God is a good Father and He's in control, not only in our regular routine, but even when fires strike.
"All the world starts changing
When the church starts praying..."
